MUSCLE SHOALS – Muscle Shoals City Schools superintendent Chad Holden informed the Alabama High School Athletic Association by letter that the Trojans will not begin fall competitions until the week of Sept. 1 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The decision affects all Muscle Shoals fall sports, meaning the Trojans’ varsity football games with Deshler Aug. 20 and Florence Aug. 28 will not be played as scheduled.
The Deshler game has been rescheduled for Sept. 25 at Deshler.
Muscle Shoals’ varsity football team will open the 2020 on Sept. 4 at home against Decatur.
Earlier this week the MSCS school board approved a move to a Aug. 20 start to the school year – 10 days later than earlier planned.
