FLORENCE – Mary Anna Trimble finished third overall in the varsity race to help Muscle Shoals take a 7th place finish at the Brooks Lions Cross Country Invitational Saturday at McFarland Park.
Trimble ran a 20:44.21 to lead Muscle Shoals’ girls in the varsity race, while Ella Anderson (25:40.09) and Kristen Collins (27:35.14) finished 35th and 49th respectively. Abby Morris was 50th overall with a time of 27:37.26. Anna Rushing, Bailey Thompson, Hannah Terry and Meagan Jurgess rounded out the Muscle Shoals finishers.
In the varsity boys’ race, Muscle Shoals’ Zach Granger ran an 18:48.11 to finish 21st overall, while Ethan Buck (20:53.86) and Thomas Bendall (22:39.11) were 59th and 82nd respectively.
The Trojans finished ninth in the varsity large schools boys race.
Jakob Robertson (23:04.16) and Sean Raper (23:56.52) rounded out the Muscle Shoals scoring.
Also finishing in the race for Muscle Shoals was Noah Kroeger and Leon Houssine.
Muscle Shoals’ Harper Branscome was the Trojans’ top finisher in the junior varsity two-mile race. He finished seventh overall with a time of 12:30.54.
In the girls’ junior varsity large schools race, Skylar Wilson (17:11.66) and Emma Moore (17:22.00) led the Lady Trojans by finishing 33rd and 34th overall.
Muscle Shoals will compete in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational Saturday at the Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Museum outside of Moulton.
