Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · MSHS track teams 2nd in Heidorn

MUSCLE SHOALS – Kaylie Wright won four individual events and Hailey Tucker won three and finished second in a fourth event to lead Muscle Shoals to a second place finish in the Don Heidorn Track Invitational Saturday at James F. Moore Stadium.

Florence edged the Muscle Shoals girls 132-126 to claim the team title.

Wright won the 100 (12.65), 200 (26.96), high jump (5-02) and long jump (18-0).

Tucker took top honors in the 400 (1:02.46), 100 hurdles (17.95) and 300 hurdles (47.51). She was also second in the 200.

Aliyah Williams won the discus with a distance of 96-11.

Jared Tittle picked up a pair of first for the Trojans ( 47-07.25 in the shot put and 154-07 in the javelin), while Jacob Peters (5-06 in the high jump) and Gregory Flint (41-06 in the triple jump) added wins.

Florence scored 175 points in the boys’ competition, while Muscle Shoals finished second with 77 points.
